Roebling Road Raceway is one of the Southeast's best-kept secrets — a 2.02-mile, 9-turn circuit tucked into the Georgia lowcountry just 25 minutes from Savannah. Completely resurfaced in 2022, it offers one of the freshest, grippiest racing surfaces in the region.
The Track: 2.02 Miles of Pure Precision
Roebling Road is a technical driver's track — flat, clean-sighted, and unforgiving of sloppy habits. The 2022 complete resurfacing transformed it into one of the best driving surfaces in the Southeast.

A Brief History
Originally built in 1959 as Savannah International Raceway. Named after Robert Roebling — a member of the family that engineered the Brooklyn Bridge. The Buccaneer Region of SCCA took ownership in 1992. The 2022 complete resurfacing eliminated decades of patches, creating a glass-smooth surface with exceptional grip.
Turn-by-Turn Guide
Turn 1: Setting the Tone
A medium-speed right-hander. Brake straight, turn in late, commit to the exit. Tentative entries cost you speed to Turn 2.
Turn 5: The Double-Apex — Roebling Road's Signature
The corner drivers talk about. A long double-apex right-hander requiring patience and throttle management. Clip the first apex, drift mid-corner, tighten to clip the second. Early throttle ruins the exit. Getting this right is one of the most satisfying feelings in HPDE.
Turns 8-9: Where Laps Are Won
Exit speed out of Turn 9 determines front straight speed. Sacrifice entry speed for exit speed. A perfect Turn 9 exit gains 3-5 mph on the straight.

Pro Tips
- Master Turn 5 before chasing speed anywhere else. The double-apex is the key to the entire lap.
- Exit speed out of Turn 9 is everything. The front straight is where you gain or lose the most time.
- The new surface has grip — use it. The 2022 repave means you can brake later and carry more speed.
- Make it a Savannah weekend. The city is 25 minutes away and one of the most beautiful in America.
FAQ
Is Roebling Road good for beginners?
Exceptional. Flat terrain, clear sightlines, wide runoff, 9-turn simplicity. TDX coaching at $50/day.
How does it compare to Homestead?
Both flat and beginner-friendly. Homestead rewards power (long straight). Roebling rewards precision (technical layout). Do both.
Is the 2022 repave really that good?
Yes. Smoother, grippier, more consistent. If you haven't been since the repave, you're in for a treat.
